Centre Overview

Maths Journey's teaching methodology is centered upon the adage "Practice Makes Perfect". Our 1.5 or 2 hour classes are structured such that our teachers first deliver the lesson so as to enable our students to understand the topic at hand, before imposing a 28 min "Drill session" for students to tackle various problems. Why 28 minutes? 28 is a Perfect number! (With the exception of the number 28, the rest of the factors (1, 2, 4, 7 and 14) add up to 28; a perfect replica of itself!

We believe to become perfect, the practice component should also be perfect.

Hence, our mathematical problem sets are configured to challenge our students to apply directly what they have learnt whilst imposing a time constraint. Perfect practice makes perfect!

We provide a Resource Library for students to have additional practice with Maths Journey compilation of mathematical resources and 1 to 1 consultation for a nominal fee. More Practice makes more perfect!

Maths Journey understands the need for students to balance work and play. Students are welcomed to use our Cosy Corner, which has amazing reads and games to unwind before or after a lesson or even to complete homework or self study.

About The Company

Maths Journey's great strength lies in its teaching staff - our Teaching Staff are either NIE graduates who are Current / Ex School Mathematics teachers, or Maths tutors with the requisite experience, qualifications, proficiency to guide and teach Mathematics for the different levels

Name: Miss Alina Khaw

Teaching Since: 2003

Miss, Alina Khaw, a passionate teacher who is equally passionate about music. She built up a reputation for her teaching passion and ability during her years as a Maths and Physics teacher in Chung Cheng High School (Yishun). As the founder and anchor teacher at Maths Journey, she is the engine propelling our mission of developing each and every student's capability and interest in Mathematics.

Name: Mr Lee

Teaching Since: 2002

Mr Lee, a.k.a, Mr Maths Professor and games master, he is a fervent with IQ questions, maths games, new approaches to learning maths etc. He is a current JC teacher who scores well with his students and most importantly help them score well! It may be quite frustrating when you cannot figure out the numerous brain teasers that he asks but all that indeed make learning a whole lot of fun!

Teaching Since: 2003

Ms Principal, as we call her suggests that she really know her stuff well. That also means that students who are a tad mischievous had better watch their back! She is none other than our Ms JW, a current Maths teacher at a reputable JC. Her mathematical endeavours dated years back when she excelled as a maths student all the way to her tertiary studies. Now the chance to pass that valuable knowledge (TIPS) to our students! Yeah!
